Wedding planning checklist.

You're engaged! Congratulations! This means there is a wedding to plan.....but where the hell do you start?

It can be so daunting trying to figure out where to start the wedding planning process, so you want to be as organized as you can to help eliminate the stress and actually enjoy the planning process. If you are a list person like me, then hopefully this helps you!

 Monthly wedding planner.

▪Get inspired.

Creat boards on pinterest, join Facebook wedding groups, check out wedding magazines and get a feel for what you might want.

▪Think of a potential date.

(Have two or three options incase a vendor you want isn't available, you'll be more flexible.)

 ▪Talk about a budget.

♡ 12 Months to go

 ▪Finalize and lock in a date.

▪Book your photographer. (They get booked well in advance)

▪Select a venue. (If it's a BYO venue look into caterers)

▪Meet with celebrants and choose one that gels with both you & your partner.

▪Start planning your guest list.

▪Pick a theme and/or colour scheme.

♡ 11 Months to go

▪Choose your bridal party.

▪Look at wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses.

▪Look into and book florist.

▪Book cater if required.

♡ 10-8 Months to go

▪Buy your wedding dress.

▪Taste cakes/Book your wedding cake.

▪Send save the dates.

▪Book hair and makeup.

▪Sort groom and groomsmens suits.

▪Choose/purchase bridesmaids outfits.

▪Book entertainment/band or any furniture you need to hire. (Tables, marquee, cutlery etc)

 ♡ 6 Months to go

▪Book wedding cars/transport.

▪Finalize wedding guest list

▪Purchase wedding invites.

▪Shop for wedding rings.

♡ 5-4 Months to go

▪Hair and makeup trial.

▪Send wedding invites.

▪Get wedding shoes and lingerie.

▪Book in dress alterations.

▪Choose wedding music.

▪Book accommodation for you and your bridal party for the night before the wedding.

▪Book accommodation for the night of the wedding.

▪Start making wedding decor.

 ♡ 3-2 Months to go

▪Finalize menu with caterers.

▪Start dress alterations.

▪Get Jewelry and accessories for the big day.

▪Draft up a schedule of how the day will run.

▪Chase up those who haven't RSVP'd.

▪Sort out bar menu.

 ♡ 1 Month to go

▪Touch base with all vendors.

▪Get marriage license.

▪Make a list of photos you are wanting.

▪Seating plan.

▪Make any final payments to vendors.

▪Write vows.

▪Book nails, waxing, tan etc.

▪Bachelorette party!

▪Finish off any diy projects/decor.

♡ 1 Week to go

▪Cut and colour hair.

▪Get engagement ring cleaned.

▪Pick up dress.

▪Delegate tasks for on the day. (Picking up flowers, sorting flower girls etc)

▪Confirm times with Vendors.

▪Wear in wedding shoes.

▪Send caterer finalized guest number.

♡ The day before

▪Give all vendors/people helping an emergency contact number.

▪Set up tables/decorate and set up venue.


▪Relax, the big day is finally here so get some rest!


Being a list person myself, having a month by month checklist has been a huge help at keeping me on track and there is just something so satisfying about crossing things off your list as you complete them. So grab your wedding book and get planning!
